Thought to be the Jess Dickinson house, c. 1840, this home was originally on the property at 78 Aurora Street when Charles Witty purchased it.  Witty built a new house for his own residence, but this older home remained on the land.  A section from the east side of the lot containing the home was added to the adjoining east lot when the house now at 82 Aurora Street was built.  This home was then moved to its present site.

Jesse Dickinson was born in Granville, Massachusetts and came to Hudson in 1833.  He was a farmer and a temperance advocate.  His obituary states that he was the first farmer in Hudson Township to do his harvesting without liquor.  (History taken from a Hudson historical book)
